The Most Frustrating Moment

In any author’s life there is one moment that is probably the most frustrating of all.  It’s the moment you realize that writing the book wasn’t the hard part.  Nor was getting the book published.

No, it’s the sudden rush of realization followed by utter panic that YOU are the link in the marketing chain that will make or break your book’s success.

So why the panic?

Because you don’t know how to market!  Most likely you did not major in marketing in college.  In fact, you may not even have taken a marketing class.

Now here you are, staring at this huge job you were never adequately prepared to tackle.

I know.  I’ve been there.  In 2001 when my first book came out, my publisher contacted me and told me it would probably be a good idea to put up a website (at my expense, time, and effort) and that I should write “three articles and try to get them put on other websites.”

That was it.  That was my introduction to marketing my book.

Honestly, that’s all the “help” they ever gave me on the subject, and I was at a complete loss.  So I started studying specifically how to market on the Internet since I realized that was where my “career” would be made or broken.

Twelve years later, I’ve learned many things about marketing—some things I never even realized I knew until other authors in my Grace & Faith group started asking for my advice on things like Twitter and Facebook and even basic marketing.  So I started a blog to explain what I knew, quickly and all in one place.

Many of the members accessed and used this information.  However, as the blog grew, it became more and more difficult to read and follow the advice because it was presented backward.  This ebook represents the first part of that blog.  What I call “the basics” forward, so you can read it, learn it, and put it into practice.

This particular book is not about how to do Twitter or Facebook, etc.  Those will come later.  In this short ebook, we’ll discuss the very basics of marketing.  If you are an author learning to market your ebook as an indie-published or even as a traditionally published author, this is a great place to start.

So now, it’s time to stop panicking and start learning!  It’s time to learn the keys to creating your own successful book marketing strategy.

Goldmine! (5-stars) –Author Lorieen D. Henry

Buy Now! Why? Keys to Creating a Successful Book Marketing Strategy is a well written resource with lessons that are attainable. As a new author, the journey can feel overwhelming at times. And some of the resources have so much information that I found it hard to know where to start. However, the author does a great job of making each lesson short, sweet and attainable. Therefore, I immediately felt encouraged rather than discouraged. The information was clear and concise which enabled me to stop reading for about 20 minutes and try out some of the strategy. This is the best of the 5 resources I’ve read this year! The author’s tone coupled with the information says “caring coach”. For me, a coach “fires me up”! I’m fired up, ready to own my mistakes and correct them. Thanks to the author for sharing so many wonderful nuggets.

Must read for all new authors as well as those who need to “own” their marketing. It’s a tough journey which includes an evolving strategy. Make this book handy during your planning!!!
