Have you ever wanted to predict the future?
Over the weekend at a graduation, I heard this quote:
“The best way to predict the future
is to look at what you are creating today.”
That may not be exact as I didn’t have anything to write it down with, but it’s close.
So the question is: What are you creating today?
The amazing thing about this question is it gives power to you right now. Not what happened to you in the past. Not what you would like to happen in the future. What are you working on TODAY?
What seeds are you planting today?
Those are the seeds you will see sprout in the future.
For example, let’s say you are in school. If today you are planting seeds of goofing off and just getting by, in the future, you will be behind others and scraping by.
If, on the other hand, you are working to really learn and grow and become more, then in the future, you will be a better person than you are right now.
Do you want to be generous? Start giving some money today.
Do you want to excel in your chosen field? Learn, practice, and master something in that field today.
Whatever you have done in the past has no bearing. If you want better, use today to be better. Start building today what you want to see tomorrow!
The only way I have been able to write 31 full-length novels is by writing them. I didn’t wake up today and decide, “I want to have 31 novels finished” and POOF! There they were.
Decide where you want to go, and take a step or more today to get there.
It won’t happen overnight, but if you take no steps to get there today, what do you think your chances of ever getting there at all will be?
by: Staci Stallings This lesson is a great one for the holidays because let’s face it, we have overcrowded lives already, and then you add this HUGE amount of baking, buying, wrapping, decorating, packing, driving/flying, celebrating, and then cleaning up on top of it. It can get to be WAY too much. The…
by: Staci Stallings I have another friend who is also working on losing weight. This one found a program that was really going well for her. She was jazzed to be on it, and it was working. Then suddenly one day she sent a chat message to the effect of… she had been…
by: Staci Stallings Today we will turn our attention from the Sowers and the Seed to something equally fascinating and just as fundamental. This idea sprang from a conversation I recently had with a friend of mine who has tried about everything she can think of to lose weight all to no avail. …
By: Staci Stallings I live with three children. Okay. They live with me, but sometimes it feels the other way around. My temperament likes to sit and write and read and think. That doesn’t always mesh with theirs. The thing that drives me the craziest is the fighting. True story: My sister and…
